Second tournament of the year took place at Stockton Lake on May 18 & 19th. The weather was much better than Table Rock – no snow! It was cloudy and a little windy on the 18th but at least the rain held off until weigh-in. Would like to welcome Shelly Russo and Karen Hutter, the club’s newest members, who fished their first tournament with the club – welcome aboard ladies!!!
Leslie Anderson brought 4 to the scale on Day 2 for 8.6. Combined with the 3 on Day 1which weighed 4.77 – she came out in first place with a total weight of 13.37. Lucky lady also won the big bass pot on Day 2.
On Day 1 Pam Dugan brought 1 to the scale for 1.63 and 2 on the second day for 4.8. Her total weight of 6.43 garnered her a second place win.
Alyssa brought this 1.98 to the scale on Day 1 and won the big bass pot for the day!
Shelly weighed in 1 bass at 1.60 on Day 1 and on Day 2 brought two to the scale. Her total weight for the tournament was 4.33. This was Shelly’s first tournament with the club and she took third place! Congratulations!
Karen Menger weighed in 1 keeper at 1.54; Bonnie Katke weighed in a total of 3.83.
The club’s next tournament is at Bull Shoals Lake on June 8th & 9th. And don’t forget about the Open Buddy Bass Tournament being held in October at Lake of the Ozarks.
Until next time, tight lines!
The Gateway Bass ‘n Gals started out their 2019 tournament season at Table Rock Lake, on April 13 and 14th.
The weather made it very challenging, especially on Sunday but luckily this group of ladies are not only tough, but are also a determined and dedicated group of female anglers. As one angler stated, “We are like the US Mail…no rain, wind, sleet or hail (or in our case snow) will keep us from the glory of hooking that Big Bass.”
Pictured here is Leslie Anderson (who also fishes with the Women’s Pro Circuit, the Lady Bass Anglers Association). On the first day she weighed in 1 fish at 1.92 lbs. On the second day she had 3 keepers that came in at 6.28 lbs. and also claimed big bass on day two which weighed 2.44 lbs. Leslie’s total weight for both days was 8.20 lbs.
Lynda Gessner (who also fishes on the Women’s Pro Circuit) had two keepers on the 1st day at 3.41 lbs but only had 1 keeper on day two. Her total weight for the tournament was 5.32 lbs.
Karen Menger weight in one bass on the first day at 2.22 lbs which also happened to be Big Bass for the first day of the tournament.
Cuban Weathers-Curcuru weighted in one fish on day 2 at 2.11 lbs.
The weather may have been challenging, but the food was awesome and the camaraderie was the best part. We would like to thank Bonnie, Brenda and Alissa for braving the cold and being a part of our first 2019 Bass ‘n Gals Tournament.
Results: 1st place – Leslie Anderson
2nd place – Lynda Gessner
3rd place – Karen Menger
